Mark Beck
Mark Beck was raised in Evansville, Indiana. He moved in with his skating pros (coaches) in Ohio, when his family moved to Florida, when he was 14. (There was little ice in Florida then.) His skating pros had a major Summer School that created some National and World Champion skaters. Mark competed up to Senior Men’s, Novice Pair and Silver Dance. When he retired, he taught physical education classes, created the ice show at Bowling Green University for 3 years. Mark was a Theater major. When he graduated, he spent 8 years in professional ice shows.
He acquired the following positions with professional shows: a chorus boy and an understudy for Ice Capades, and a line captain for Holiday on Ice. Overtime, he became a Performance Director for Ice Parade and Vegas on Ice. He retired and has been in Springfield for 34 years. He still works on the local Spotlight on Ice show, Springfield Park District Group lessons and teaches adults-singles.
